Ein neues Kapitel
Hello zusammen,
wenige Monate ist es her, dass ich von mir hören lassen hab. Ich war ein wenig im Zwiespalt ob diese ganze Blog-Sache wirklich sein muss - heute aber fühle ich es (schmunzelnd).
Vor etwa 4 Tagen bekam ich die Mail von der Schauspielschule. Im Anhang der Stundenplan und dass es in 6 Wochen losgeht!
Wow - 6 Wochen noch. Ich habe etwa ein Dreivierteljahr auf diesen Tag gewartet und bald ist er da. Sehr schön!
Jetzt steigt die mit Vorfreude geladene Nervosität schon ein wenig.
Ich erinnere mich gut an die Zeit in Los Angeles in der ich zum ersten Mal Schauspiel Unterricht genommen habe und puh - war ich nervös. Natürlich hoffe ich mich da etwas gebessert zu haben, aber selbst wenn - ein wenig Nervosität gehört immer dazu, wenn man neue Dinge wagt.
In diesem Zuge wäre es interessant zu wissen, ob oder was du/ihr als Leser denn vielleicht von der Ausbildung zum Filmschauspieler wissen wollt. Willkommen 2.0
Nach etwa 2 Jahren habe ich mich dazu entschieden diese Seite wiederzubeleben. Ein hauptsächlicher Grund dafür ist die Tatsache, dass ich neben den sozialen Medien die uns wohl allen bekannt sind über eine eigene Plattform verfügen möchte, auf der ich sowohl Gestaltung als auch meine „eigenen Regeln“ haben möchte. Das gibt mir das Gefühl von Freiheit und ich muss mich nicht vor einem Algorithmus fürchten oder ein Layout akzeptieren was mir eventuell nicht passt.
Aber neben diesen Luxusproblemen gibt es mir auch die hervorragende Möglichkeit, all mein Schaffen & Handeln zu kanalisieren - ohne mein „Grid“ zu versauen oder keine „klare Linie“ zu verfolgen, sodass ein Algorithmus mir möglicherweise ein wenig Reichweite nimmt, mich sortiert oder anderweitig kontrolliert.
Deshalb genieße ich es einen Ort im Internet zu haben, den ich als „meinen Platz“ bezeichnen kann - in dem ich tun und lassen kann was ich möchte.
Zudem ist es auch eine effizientere Möglichkeit sein Portfolio zur Schau zu stellen. Woran ich momentan täglich arbeite.
Was dich auf dieser Seite also erwartet wären also folgende 3 Säulen:

Fotografie und Videos
Seit ich das erste mal eine Kamera in der Hand hatte - das war ungefähr vor 10 Jahren, es war ein Camcorder des Herstellers JVC und ich hatte ihn gekauft um mich und meine Freunde beim Blödsinn treiben zu filmen - habe ich meine Begeisterung dafür entdeckt das Leben einzufangen und in Szene zu setzen.
Genauso erging es mir dann ein paar Jahre später, als ich mit der Spiegelreflexkamera meines Vaters im Zoo umhergelaufen bin um die dortigen Tiere und Menschen zu fotografieren.
Als ich mich aber dazu entschloss in die Fitnessbranche zu gehen, habe ich dieses Handwerk nicht weiter verfolgt und kam erst Jahre später wieder mit einer Kamera in Berührung, als ich nach gefühlt 100 verschiedenen Versuchen ,,mein Ding“ zu finden wieder danach griff.
Ich fotografierte alles mögliche und später auch die Band meiner Freunde. Ich begleitete sie auf Auftritten und dadurch kam ich mit Frank in Kontakt. Frank veranstaltet seit ein paar Jahren Festivals und er mochte meine Arbeit. Er war auch der erste der mich dafür bezahlte. Ich war überwältigt, dass ich für das was ich erst zum Spaß machte Geld bekam. Auch wenn dies natürlich irgendwo auch meine Intuition war - ich gehöre definitiv zu den Personen dessen Selbstvertrauen mit den Erfolgen reift.
Also fuhr ich fort mit dem was ich tat und freue mich bis heute darüber mit Menschen zusammen zu arbeiten. Ein Riesen Bonus ist dazu auch noch mein Bruder Ron, welcher ebenfalls Fotografiert und sich als Grafikdesigner stetig weiterentwickelt. Das sorgt zusätzlich noch einmal für Spaß und ein kreatives Umfeld.
Schauspiel
Auch wenn ich bei dem Anblick heute im Boden versinken würde, habe ich schon als Kind gerne Auftritte für meine Familie vorgeführt, in der Schule gerne Superheld oder Agent gespielt und hing neben meinen Abenteuern draußen auch viel vor dem Fernseher. Ich fand es cool in andere Rollen zu schlüpfen, das „echte Leben“ zu verschönern und bewunderte die Menschen die dies taten. Bis heute haben sie für mich etwas ganz besonderes an sich. Wie andere ihre Lieblingssportler, Sänger oder Unternehmer zum Vorbild haben, sind es bei mir die Schauspieler. Ihre Art wie sie auf Veranstaltungen sprechen, ihr Leben das sie führen und den harten Weg den viele von ihnen gegangen sind um dorthin zu kommen, wo wir alle sie jetzt sehen können - das hat für mich schon fast etwas göttliches.
Und auch wenn dieser Traum schon immer irgendwo tief hinten in mir versteckt war, so habe ich lange damit gewartet. Es war nichtmal die Tatsache, dass es mir ausgeredet oder verboten wurde - meine Familie hat mich immer tun und machen lassen was ich für richtig hielt. Dafür bin ich ihnen bis Heute ewig dankbar. Es war viel mehr die Tatsache, dass ich es mir nicht ansatzweise hätte vorstellen können überhaupt einen Schritt auf diesen Pfad zu setzen. Wer bin ich schon, dass ich zu sowas im Stande wäre?
Also vergingen etwa 2 Jahrzehnte bis ich über meinen bis heute besten Freund Jan auf eine Akademie stieß, auf der ich lernte wie man Filme macht. ,,Wenn ich schon kein Schauspieler werde, dann werde ich jetzt Filme machen.“
Nach ein paar lustigen, auch ernüchternden Jahren an der Akademie und kleiner als erträumten Jobs als Freiberufler fasste ich den Entschluss das mit dem Schauspiel nicht komplett sein zu lassen. Und kurze Zeit darauf wirkte ich als Kleindarsteller in einem Pilotprojekt mit. Nach etwa 12 Stunden an einem Filmset an dem ich als Tonassistenz half, rief Jan mich an und meinte, dass ihnen am Set noch ein Darsteller fehlen würde. ,,Komm schon Phil! Du hast doch Bock! Jetzt komm her das wird geil man!“
Da meine Müdigkeit mein Urteilsvermögen und auch meine Angst „es zu verbocken“ allem Anschein nach irgendwie außer Kraft setzte, war ich in wenigen Kilometern am Set. Ich wurde gebrieft und der Spaß ging los.
Wir haben etwa 13 Takes gebraucht, da wir eine lange Choreografie mit gefühlt 30 Leuten durchführten und jedes Mal, wenn es hieß, ,,Wir drehen noch einmal!“ war es wie Musik in meinen Ohren und ich habe mich darüber gefreut, dass mein kleiner Auftritt noch nicht vorbei war.
So hatte ich Blut geleckt.
Also flog ich ein halbes Jahr später mit Jan nach Los Angeles und lernte in der Stadt, in der sich unsere Träume hoffentlich eines Tages erfüllen sollen das amerikanische Filmschauspiel. Es war überwältigend und wir konnten den nächsten Unterricht gar nicht mehr abwarten! Diese ganzen Techniken, der Flair der Stadt und die Abenteuer die uns die USA zu bieten hatte - das..DAS war es! Ich wollte nie wieder zurück in mein altes Leben.
Doch als ich dann in Deutschland wieder ankam war all das irgendwie weg - also brauchte ich noch ein weiteres Jahr der Orientierung. Jan war angenommen worden an der Internationalen Akademie für Filmschauspiel (kurz: IAF). Ich hatte ihn Monate zuvor beim Casting begleitet. Meine Freundin und ich begannen irgendwann darüber zu sprechen und ich war neidisch - ich war so verdammt neidisch. Nicht, weil ich es ihm nicht gegönnt hatte - auf keinen Fall. Es war viel mehr der Schmerz, dass ich das alles auch vielleicht hätte haben können - ich hatte nur wie immer viel zu viel Schiss.
Auf einer Zugfahrt nach Berlin, die meine Freundin Franzi und mich zum Flugzeug nach Spanien fuhr, da überkam mich ein Gefühl, das andere wohl als Erleuchtung bezeichnen würden. Als Franzi an meiner Schulter lag und ich so aus dem Fenster sah, da wurde ich traurig. Ich war so verdammt traurig. Ich verbrachte mein Leben gefühlt immer mehr in Gedanken als in meinem Handeln und das machte mich in dem Moment einfach nur traurig. Geld war oft ein Thema dabei. Ich wusste, dass ich etwas kreatives machen will, investiere tausende von Euros und Stunden darin, einen Beruf zu finden der mir schnelles Geld und Erfüllung bringen würde - doch natürlich immer vergeblich. Das machte mich wütend. Also ging ich tief in mich, streichelte den Arm meiner Freundin und dachte mir ,,Was würdest du tun, wenn du im Lotto gewinnen würdest? Oder einen Koffer voll Geld, der dir all die Ängste ein Leben in Unfreiheit nehmen würde? Was würdest du mit den restlichen, vielleicht noch 60 oder gar 70 Jahren deines Lebens anfangen?“. Das war doppelt so viel Zeit wie ich schon gelebt hatte. Also sagte ich mir, ich mache von jetzt an nur noch das worauf ICH Lust habe. Was ich fühle. Womit ich identifiziert werden will.
Nur wie brachte ich das meiner Freundin bei? Meiner Familie? Mir stand ein Studium bevor in dessen Aufnahmeprüfungen ich mich so reingekniet hatte. Ich würde also wieder alle enttäuschen.
Doch irgendwann platzte es aus mir raus.
Ich sprach wenige Wochen später eine lange Autofahrt lang mit meiner Freundin über das Thema und sie unterstütze mich dabei vollkommen. Das gab mir halt. Also guckte ich wenige Zeit später nach den Castings der IAF und: exakt 7 Tage später gab es eins. ,,KOMM SCHON MAN! Jetzt kneifst du nicht! Wenn du dich da jetzt nicht anmeldest dann tust du es niemals!“ Mein Herz schlug wie verrückt. Mein Handy war nass von meinen schwitzigen Händen und ich bombardierte Franzi, Jan sowie meinen Bruder Ron mit Sprachnachrichten. Rechtfertigte mich. Jammerte. Überlegte - dann rechtfertigte ich mich wieder.
Beim Training im Fitnessstudio, wenige Stunden später, wo die Hormone natürlich auch am Limit waren und der Kopf ausgeschaltet, dachte ich ,,Fuck it.“ - und meldete mich an.
Also suchte ich mit kurzerhand eine Szene aus meinem Lieblingsfilm ,,Fight Club'' heraus und übte sie jeden Tag. Unter der Dusche, auf dem Klo in der Schule, beim Sport auf dem Laufband, im Auto und zuhause wenn ich allein war.
Dann ging es nach Köln. Casting - Time!
Ich spielte meine Szene mit solch einer Selbstsicherheit als wäre ich Tyler Durden selbst. Als ich fertig war ging das Gefühl in eine komplett andere Richtung und ich war kurz davor zu fragen ob ich es noch einmal wiederholen dürfe. Doch dann stellte Sven, der Schulleiter, auch schon einen Stuhl in den Raum, bat Jan (er begleitete mich als Spielpartner) sich darauf zu setzen und wir führten noch zwei Impro Übungen durch.
Am 19. November war es dann soweit. Ich war gerade auf dem Weg zu einem Auftrag als plötzlich meine Apple Watch vibrierte - ich hatte es geschafft. Ich wurde angenommen! Tränen liefen mir über mein Gesicht ich habe so laut geschrien wie ich nur konnte!
Seit dem Tag freue ich mich darauf diese Ausbildung, die ich mir so sehr erträumt habe anzutreten.
Und da kommen wir auch noch zu einem Punkt, der das nächste Thema einleitet.
Schreiben
Schreiben hat mir schon immer irgendwie Spaß bereitet. Ich tat es nie wirklich bewusst gerne. Eher dann wenn ich es eh tun musste. War ich dann jedoch erst einmal dabei, dann hat es richtig Spaß gemacht.
So war Deutsch dann neben Englisch, Politik und Sport mein Lieblingsfach geworden und ich war auch echt gut darin. Diktate, Aufsätze - die Klausuren und Tests waren eher Spaß als Herausforderung und die Noten gaben mir Bestätigung. Aber genug mit der Prahlerei.
Als dann die ersten Praktika begannen, wollte ich unbedingt zur Zeitung. Dort wurde ich als Praktikant auch sofort angenommen und ich hatte zwei unfassbar lehrreiche und spaßige Wochen . Auch wenn ich nur 2 Tage davon in der Redaktion schreiben konnte. Davon gibt es sogar noch mein Tagebuch - vielleicht veröffentliche ich das ja mal.
Auch wenn das Schreiben an sich vielleicht nicht unbedingt meine große Passion ist - wie das Schauspiel oder die Fotografie - wird es auf jeden Fall ein großer Bestandteil meines Lebens werden. Ob ich jetzt einfach aus Spaß diese Blog-Einträge führe oder Drehbücher, Kurzgeschichten und andere Dinge schreibe.
Nun gut - jetzt sollte jedem, der das hier bis zum Ende gelesen hat ungefähr wissen worum sich mein Leben und damit auch diese Online-Präsenz dreht. Dieser Artikel ist auch ein wenig umfangreicher geworden als erwartet - fast schon biografisch. Das ist ja aber der Spaß dabei und ich hoffe ich konnte für ein wenig Unterhaltung sorgen.
Ich freue mich natürlich über jeden, der sich für meine Dinge interessiert. Vielleicht arbeiten wir ja auch mal zusammen.

#12 Burgers in L.A. - No meat? No problem!
You like burgers as much as I do and do not want a dead animal between your buns? Then I have here 3 burgers for you, you should absolutely try (not just as a vegetarian), if you are in LA and surroundings! Important: This depends on vegetarian nutrition, not vegan. I think with just adjustments there are vegan options, too.(not ranked, that would take too much time)1. The Mushroom Burger at Bubbagump/IG @officialbubbagumpThis burger should be your meal when you're in Santa Monica and your friends do not want to miss shrimps. Bubba Gump stands out in my opinion not only with excellent food out but also with a great service which not only the great employees are meant, but also the cool ordering system. (It may be that this already exists more often, but I come from Germany, there is usually everything as it is haha)You have two signs: One should Forrest run and another should Forrest stop and serve you. I was just impressed. No stupid arm-waving more and no unnecessary wait because it works great!
Now the burger: The burger is served with fries, a dill pickle and includes the mushroom patty, cheese, vegetables and a delicious sauce. The patty is as the name already said mainly from mushrooms and beans. Unfortunately, like the other two burgers, I can not give any exact ingredients or information, so I do not even assume it. :)2. The Counter Burger - or in my own words ,, The Hulk” /IG @thecounterburgerThe Counter Burger let your stomach explode if you want. This store serves you with a burger kit - at least a building block form. As soon as you have been led to your table by a nice waitress you will get an ordinary menu and the just mentioned building block form (see picture B...btw: I’m on IG, too @philbeckr ).
There you can choose everything - from the patty to the special ingredient! What I meant by "hulk" is the fact that you can choose between three burger sizes. Small, Medium and Large.I like to eat a lot and of course I decided to go for Large and damn - this thing is large! Maybe not in its scope, but I've never had to fight like that with a burger and that means something, if you understand what I mean.
3. The Buffalo Wings Veggie Option /IG @bwwings As with the name of the restaurant not immediately to be expected there are also vegetarian options (no vegan) at Buffalo Wild Wings.There is a veggie patty which consists of mushrooms and black beans and I can say again: It just tastes great!Which is pretty cool: every burger in the menu can be served with this patty. It should be noted that other options may include natural bacon or other animal products.
I can assure you that with all three burgers your tastes come! Enjoy it! :-)
#11 The Las Vegas story
Last weekend we were in Las Vegas and it's really a crazy city. Something is always happening and there is always something to look at.We started on Friday evening, had a cool stop at Link Hops where we ate something and then drove on.
At about 5 am we finally arrived in Vegas and searched for hotels. For most of the check in was only at noon, so we had to look for something. We stopped at the Paris Hotel, which looked very good and matched the cost. However, this also had the check in so late that we finally booked at the Westin Hotel. There we could go directly to our room and sleep.The room was a bit cramped for 3 people, but it was enough for sleeping and showering. After a few hours sleep, there was first a coffee from the in-house Starbucks and then it went on the Strip. Vegas is something completely different by day, if you've seen it at night before. Otherwise it's probably just like that. Literally a difference of day and night.
My friend and classmate Azael knows all about Vegas, that's why he first showed me the area and it's really awesome. Especially the Caesars Palace Hotel is just amazing!It's almost like a small underground city that totally forgets that this is a hotel. The shops are totally interesting and also very expensive. But that's just Vegas, as money is not allowed to play haha.
In between, we drove to the outlets, where I actually wanted to buy shoes. Instead, I came back with a jacket, a t-shirt and a stupid pineapple shirt. No shoes.
When it was finally evening the Vegas fun could really start! We changed and we started!On the way to a restaurant we were approached by a pretty girl who tried as a promoter. She was the most dreadful promoter I ever met - really.That was probably why her over motivated colleague came to us: His name was Steve.Steve is one of those people who would sell their own handbag to an old woman. He has an enormous charisma and knows exactly what he has to say to convince someone. He also said he was a promoter and would help us make the right decision. Very much blah blah blah and compliments. I was very skeptical and did not feel good. In the end, I put aside my skepticism and thought maybe he's just an ambitious salesman. Finally, and after consultation with my friends, we bought 2 VIP wristbands for a hip club in Vegas for $ 150. A third we got for free.What kept pounding my head on the way to the club was the question, "How can his employers understand that he has sold us these wristbands so he gets his commission?"There was no code or something like that."Whatever ." I thought and finally arrived at the club my reservations had been confirmed: The wristbands were fake. So we ran back immediately and tried to grab the idiot but without success. When we accepted the situation we went to eat something and had a funny evening.The security forces told us, "Never buy anything on the street when you're in Vegas." And I took this tip to heart haha. So people, learn from our experience. :-)
Next day we drove to Arizona! But that is another post!Good night!
#10 First week
Sorry that I have not heard from me for so long, so much action and trips and too lazy for writing, but I’ll make up for it.The first days were typical days to settle in and explore the area. Where do I have to go? Where is the school? Where can I shop? And most importantly, where is the gym?!We first looked at the metro connections and then after the long journey first decided to drive directly to the Expo Line to Santa Monica, because I simply love this place and wanted to see it again. There were of course many crazy people, great weather, good food and a lot of things to photograph! As already mentioned in one of my last entries: Anyone who has the opportunity to go to Santa Monica (and also Venice) ... Do it! You will love it.
I can truly say that we live in a good location here, even though it was a bit scary at first to be located in South Central. It is on the edge and 2 blocks from the USC. We are fast in the metro in Hollywood, Downtown LA and Santa Monica.
So ... I hope you're happy to hear from me and the next article will not take you long to wait like this one, haha
#09 Finally arrived in L.A. !!!
Okay guys! We’re in L.A.! We had a nice flight with great films and games. Jan and me played a lot of poker and battleships. When we arrived we went to 7 eleven and ordered a Uber car. At first without success: The driver canceled the ride, because we weren’t at the right place although we was at the pickup location. The big misunderstanding was: We were down below and the driver was on the parking lot above us. Fail haha
So then the second driver picked us up and brought us to our apartment.
It‘s pretty cool and got all we need for staying here. The only thing we were scared about was: We live in South Central, but it’s close to the university and the neighbors are nice. I think/hope it’s safe hahaSee you soon!
#8 First stop: London
We start our trip at Hannover Airport and fly to London where we have to wait a few hours for our final flight to LAX Airport.
The security check in London was a bit funny because the employee spoke quiet as well so that I had a big struggle with understanding her........but it worked and now we’re here. :-DAfter that we had a delicious breakfast at a restaurant named “The Curator” in London Heathrow Airport and walk around to get our feet tired for the big USA - flight. :-)

#7 Packing the suitcase
Tonight we finally start our 2 month acting-trip to L.A. . At this time I sit in the gym and do my last workout in germany, because the next time I‘ll train at ,,L.A. Fitness“ in Los Angeles haha. Can’t wait!
Today I will pack the last things into my suitcase (started packing at weekend) and check off some To Do‘s so that I can leave home relaxed.Then I will go into the city, need a new power bank, presentation map for headshots, some cosmetics ( hygiene towels!!!! Open toilets!!!! ) and a security bag for my shower gel and hair oil. Nobody like it if the whole suitcase is oily and wet!

#6 The Etruscan Smile
,,The Etruscan Smile“ directed by Oded Binnun and Mihal Brezis, was an intensive and emotional movie.It’s sooo close to life and after a few minutes you don’t feel like you sit in the seat of a cinema - no. You feel like you’re inside the movie and live together with these characters.
This drama it’s funny, sad and serious. It makes you thinking about your life: Yourself as a person, the family and most of all the little things. The little things which are making your life full and better and how often you don’t see them - or forget them.I don’t want to explain the content of this movie. It’s great as well, but today I just wanted to explain my impressions on.In this Movie I saw me, my dad, my grandpa and myself a bit. Strange family-relations with unspoken feelings and thoughts.I cried 2 times and that was okay, because it heals wounds like this in your heart.And it improves your acting skills a bit :-)Do you think people should cry in cinema if they can’t hold it back? And why/why not?Write in the comments! :-)PS: Wrote this with half eye open....corrections are incoming :-)
#5 Video-shoot last weekend
Hey together,last weekend we had a nice music video-shoot. It was very good and we had a lot of fun!We started at Saturday morning 09:00 am with checking the location and building the prop (camp, fire, pick up, some other stuff ). Then we started filming and it was pretty cool - blessedly the weather was our friend. ☀️
At the blue sea we had problems with that location because there was too many people ( sun, sea, weekend... haha), but the crowd was cool and they changed their place so that we can continuing our shoot. Thanks at this point to the great people.
We shoot until 11:00 pm and then we went to our hotel where we took a shower and fell asleep to load our battery for the next day.
—Sunday morning -After breakfast and some chilltime we go back to the set, watched the footage and after that we decided that we don’t need any more stuff. So we filmed the whole video in one day. :-)
Now we’re in post-production and excited for the result!5 days out to L.A. ...
#4 9 days out
In 9 days I start my trip to L.A. !Can’t wait for it! This weekend my brother and me shoot a music video with a cool band in the east of Germany.The whole plan was knocked over and over again and now the weather is rainy, too. But we got plan b and are still motivated! :-)Now we enjoy our coffee, pack our equipment and start the car.For the filmmakers: We shoot on Sony A6300/Sigma 30mm f1.4 on Zhiyun Crane v2 with external 7" monitor. :-)

#3 My first time at Santa Monica and the one thing I liked the most at this day
This picture arose at the first day I went to Santa Monica. Santa Monica is a very nice place. At least you have to be there one time in my opinion.It was almost exactly one year ago on my 3-week EF Santa Barbara trip with my brother Ron and our french roommate Mathias who doesn't speak english and much less german. The only german word he really knew was "scheisse" - what means "shit". In Germany we use it when we hit our feet on the bed and curse "SCHEISSE!".Back to topic... :DWe were at the pier, ate awesome food for awesome prices at "Thai Vegan" and explore some little shops and places.The most beautiful thing I liked was this "powerful calmness" when the sunset is going perfect (like an viral Instagram picture) and the people becoming quieter and let the day fade out. This mood was the best at this day. I don't know when I felt this way before. In this mood I took this picture and inside of me, when I look at it I get this feeling a bit back.So this is the story to this picture. 10 days out to my next trip to California :-)Best wishes,Phil
#2 Los Angeles - Intro
Hey, nice to meet you here :-)In this article I want to explain my next big project. In 11 days my best friend Jan (IG/TW: @jan_jore) and me will go to L.A. for almost 2 month. In this time we will travel around, explore California, meet nice people and the highlight: We will build up our acting skills at an acting school!
